SAFARI ITINERARY

DAY 1 AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Safari life begins. Depart at 0800 driving south east towards Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. Rest halt at Namanga, the ever busy border town between Kenya and Tanzania. Proceed further east to the home of The African Elephant, a very apt norm for Amboseli which hosts huger herds of the majestic African elephant. Arrive at the lodge by 1200. Lunch. Early afternoon at leisure, game viewing drive at 1600, return to the lodge by 1845. Dinner and overnight. FB.

DAY 2 AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Game drive 0630, return to the lodge by 0900 for breakfast. Day at leisure. Afternoon game viewing run at 1600. Return by 1845. Dinner and overnight. FB.

DAY 3 NAIVASHA
Game drive 0630, return to the lodge by 0900 for breakfast. Depart at 0945, backtrack to Nairobi, onward to the lake shore town of Naivasha, on the lower level of The Great Rift Valley. Arrive in time for a late lunch at the lodge, on the shore of the lake. Naivasha is bird watchers paradise, there are over 600 species of birds resident on the shore. Afternoon at leisure to take a boat ride at the nearby Crescent Island or relax by the swimming pool. Dinner and overnight. FB.

DAY 4 MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE
Breakfast at 0700, depart at 0730 for Masai Mara, driving east this time to what has been aptly dubbed as the “ultimate game viewing destination in the world,” home to the largest wildebeest migration across two countries. Descend into the Great Rift Valley, breif rest halt at Narok town, proceed further south arrive at the lodge by 1330. Lunch. Afternoon game viewing drive at 1600, return by 1845. Dinner and overnight. FB.

DAY 5 MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE
Early morning game viewing run at 0630 (optional Balloon Safari with Champagne Breakfast, additional cost), return for breakfast by 0900. Day at leisure. Afternoon game viewing run at 1600. Return by 1845. Dinner and overnight. FB.

DAY 6 LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast at 0700, depart at 0730 for Nakuru, driving to floor of the Great Rift Valley, to what is known as the greatest ornithological spectacle - the shimmering pink hue of the lake, owing to the large population of flamingoes resident in the lake, some on a “little break” on their migratory path from Lake Baringo in the north to Lake Natron in the south. Arrive at the lodge by 1300, lunch, early afternoon at leisure, afternoon game viewing run at 1600. The park is home to lions, baboon, zebras, buffaloes, the white rhino, leopards, topis, antelopes and other plains game. Return by 1845. Dinner and overnight. FB.

DAY 7 NANYUKI, MOUNT KENYA SAFARI CLUB
Early morning game viewing run at 0630, return for breakfast by 0900. Depart at 0930 for Nanyuki, arrive by 1300 vide Nyahururu, the “Equator” point. Lunch.
The club, set in pristine grounds at the foot of the majestic snow capped Mount Kenya was founded in 1959 by Sir William Holden and has been honoured by visits from many celebrities including John Travolta. Time at the club is graced by long lunches and lazy log fire dinners, for the more energetic there is a heated swimming pool, tennis courts, croquet, a golf course, trout fishing, nature / bird walks, horse back riding and an early morning ride on an ox wagon through the club grounds.
Afternoon at leisure. There is an animal orphanage within the club grounds which has cheetahs, the llama, ostriches, zebroids (mixed breed of zebra and a horse), porcupines, baby antelopes, the white tailed Colobus monkeys and a tortoise rumoured to be over 100 years old.
Dinner and overnight. FB.

DAY 8 NAIROBI / HOMEWARD BOUND
Breakfast at 0830, depart at 0930 for Nairobi, arrive by 1200, connect onward to your next safari program or your flight home with memories of Africa to cherish forever
